Our Traditional or E1 Program
Our traditional or E1 program was designed to meet the needs of students with average to above-average cognitive abilities who might not thrive in a traditional classroom setting. Many of our students have learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, Asperger’s or other learning exceptions such as giftedness. All classrooms have a student-teacher ratio of 7:1, creating an environment where the focus is on the individual.
E1 students may have no diagnosis at all, but are transitioning from a Montesorri or home school program. Many of our students deal with anxiety and need the smaller classroom settings that TES can provide. TES acts as a bridge and prepare them for transfer to public or private high school.
In addition to academics, numerous opportunities are provided to build self-esteem and leadership. These opportunities include learning and applying new skills in a supported environment, participating in leadership opportunities, developing character and social-emotional skills through our character education programs, being involved in our community and school service projects, participating in clubs, expressing creativity in the fine arts and developing self-advocacy skills.
