Support Edison
Small schools run on people who decide to help.
The Edison School is a not-for-profit. Tuition does not cover what it costs to teach this way, and the difference is made up by families, alumni and neighbors who decided a school like this should exist in Middle Tennessee.

Edison saved my child’s life.
Parents don’t say that about a school unless they mean it. We’ve heard it more than once, and it’s the reason this page exists. Because we can’t do the work without our friends, neighbors, and families who help.
Where it goes
A gift here doesn’t buy supplies. It changes how a childhood goes.
We only know one way to operate: With a kid-first approach. That means adults with enough time to actually know the kids who show up here every morning. That’s the expensive part. It’s also the part that makes Edison work for so many families who public schools have left behind.
Keeping groups small
Four students to a teacher is the model, and the single most expensive thing we do. It’s also why a child who spent years at the back of a public school room of thirty gets noticed on the first morning.
Tuition assistance
So a family who needs this school is not turned away by the number at the bottom of their bill. Every year there are children who are here for exactly one reason, and it is because people like you decided to help.
Reading, and the horses
Direct reading instruction and the materials that go with it, plus the short equine sessions we run with Discovery Stables each semester. For some students, reading is the door that everything else is behind.

One night a year
Benefit for Bright Minds
Our one fundraising event of the year, and the night most of this money comes from. Dinner, families telling a room what this school did for their child, and a few hundred people who decided it should exist. If you would like an invitation, or want to talk about sponsoring a table, call the office and we will take care of it.
