At The Edison School, we are committed to making our exceptional K-12 education accessible to as many families as possible. We understand that choosing a private school involves a significant financial commitment, and we want to provide clear information to help you plan. Below, we outline our tuition, available state funding, and school tuition assistance to give you a sense of the potential out-of-pocket costs.
Tennessee State Student Funding Programs for Tuition at The Edison School

The Edison School is committed to making quality education accessible to all students. To support families with tuition costs, we participate in several Tennessee state-funded programs designed to provide financial assistance. Below is an overview of the key programs available to eligible students attending The Edison School:

  • Individualized Education Account (IEA) Program: This program provides funds for students with specific disabilities, as outlined in an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), to cover approved educational expenses, including tuition at participating private schools like The Edison School. Eligible families can use IEA funds to customize their child’s education to meet their unique needs. Please visit https://www.tn.gov/education/iea.html for more information.

  • Education Savings Account (ESA) Program: The ESA program offers financial support to students who are zoned to attend Metro Nashville Public Schools, who meet eligibility criteria, such as attending a low-performing public school or meeting income requirements. Funds can be applied toward tuition at approved private schools, including The Edison School, empowering parents to choose the best educational environment for their child. Please visit https://www.tn.gov/education/esa.html for more information.

  • Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) Program: Education Freedom Scholarships will allow residents of Tennessee who have a child entitled to attend a public school in grades K-12 to use state funds toward education expenses, including tuition. Please visit https://www.tn.gov/education/efs.html for more information.

Please understand that state grant program funds cannot be combined, and even if you receive both state grant funds and Edison School Tuition Assistance, the total amount will not fully cover the tuition for the school year.

To learn more about how these programs can reduce tuition costs at The Edison School, please contact our admissions office. We are here to help your family navigate these opportunities and ensure your child receives an exceptional education tailored to their needs.

Tuition and Fees

At The Edison School, we recognize that investing in a private school education for your child is a significant financial commitment that requires thoughtful planning and, for some families, considerable sacrifice. To support you in this process, we offer flexible tuition payment plans and a need-based tuition assistance program tailored to help make our exceptional K-12 education more accessible.

Enrollment Fee

There is an enrollment deposit due with your enrollment contract each year. For returning students, The Edison School offers continuous re-enrollment in the Spring for the upcoming school year. This non-refundable fee holds your students' spot and allows us to plan our staffing and resources for the next school year.

Textbook &
Technology Fee

This fee is collected on July 1 and covers the resources needed for the upcoming school year for your student.

Tuition Assistance

If you are interested in applying for financial assistance, please wait until your student has gone through the admissions process and has been admitted.

The Edison School offers need-based tuition assistance. The amount awarded to each family is based on the number of applicants and the total amount of tuition assistance dollars that are available from fund-raising efforts every year. The maximum tuition aid given does not exceed 20% of the total tuition and will take into account any state grants your student will receive.

TES uses the FACTS tuition assistance program. All applications for tuition assistance must be made through FACTS.
